Rebeca Navarro-Mckelvey, President of the Garden of Innocents  envisioned a permanent stone memorial at the garden carved with the children's names, "Sleeping Angel" logo, and Mission Statement.

A fund-raising effort was initialized by one of the Garden of Innocent's volunteer to find a monument company willing to help us.  Over 30  letters were mailed to companies in and around the St. Louis area.  Response was immediate and very positive.  All of the monument companies were aware of the Garden of Innocent's work and wanted to help. Monumental Finishers' owners Leonard and Diane Bacon offered to donate the entire cost of the stone.

Stone donated by Monumental Finishers was dedicated July 29, 2006.

A memorial bench was placed at the garden for visitors.    This bench was made possible by the generous donations of the women of the Ester K. Harris Order of the Eastern Star and the women of Epsilon Sigma Alpha-Rho Chi Chapter.
